trades show
On Thursday, May 19th, the Friends of Max S. Hayes High School are hosting a Trades Show at the school from 9:30-11 am. Industry partners - and all community members interested in helping young people succeed in well-paying and fulfilling careers in the construction, manufacturing, and transportation sectors - are invited to attend the Trades Show program.
The program will feature select twelfth grade students demonstrating what they learned this year through career-tech project-based opportunities. Video presentations from twelfth grade students currently working at industry partners will also be shared as part of the program.
Though not included in the public Trades Show program, select tenth and eleventh grade students will present what they've learned this year to members of the Friends. This will be a positive opportunity for these young people to develop their presenation skills and reflect on their growth this year.
Industry partners are also invited to participate in Technical Advisory Committees immediately following the program. These committee meetings are a great opportunity for career-tech educators to learn about how to best prepare students for gaining employment and achieving success working with industry partners in construction, manufacturing (CADD, precision machining, and welding), and transportation (auto body, auto tech, and diesel tech).
