Our History & Mission

The Friends of Max S. Hayes High School (FoMH) was founded in 2010 as the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) went through a comprehensive planning and stakeholder engagement process that coincided with the construction of and major investment in the new Max Hayes High School. The objective of the FoMH is to provide work-based learning and business input into curriculum and technology, and outside support for faculty and students. Our board includes school and CMSD leaders in addition to community stakeholders from higher education institutions as well as members of the building & construction, manufacturing, and transportation sectors. Max S. Hayes High School was founded in 1950 and is now located in a state-of-the-art facility which opened in August 2015. Enrollment is currently at 539 students, grades 9-12, and students are provided with opportunities to prepare for careers in building & construction, manufacturing, and transportation.
